Titan 100 program recognizes Chicago’s Top 100 executive leaders

LISLE, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#DeVryProudDeVry University’s President and CEO, Elise Awwad, has been named as a 2024 Chicago Titan 100 by Titan CEO . The award recognizes Chicago’s visionary leaders through the Titan 100 program. Representing both the private and public sectors, these Titans of Industry demonstrate exceptional leadership, vision, passion and influence in their field.

“It’s an honor to be recognized with this distinction,” said Awwad. “At DeVry, we have an unwavering commitment to student success and are proud to help prepare students to thrive in today’s ever-evolving, tech-driven workforce. This recognition serves as a testament to the excellence demonstrated by faculty, colleagues, and students.”

President Awwad is the first woman to lead DeVry. Known for breaking down barriers and leading cultural transformations, she is passionate about the role education plays in supporting the career advancement of underrepresented populations.

Inspired by the students’ stories and DeVry’s mission to help close the opportunity gap, she has committed her career to developing personalized journeys to drive students’ success to graduation and beyond. Her belief that diversity and inclusiveness are an essential part of innovation drove her to create DeVry’s first women’s affinity and business resource group, EDGE (Empowerment, Diversity, Growth, and Excellence), which promotes the enhanced career experience and advancement of women in leadership roles within the university and broader community.

“The Titan 100 are visionary leaders that inspire the Chicago business community. These preeminent leaders have built a distinguished reputation that is unrivaled and preeminent in their field. We are humbled to recognize the Titan 100 for their efforts to shape the future of the Chicago business community,” added Jaime Zawmon, President of Titan CEO.

Awwad will be recognized, with her fellow Titan 100 winners, at the annual awards event on Feb. 8, 2024, at Navy Pier’s Aon Grand Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois.
