PlayBox Neo, a leading provider of media playout solutions, announced the addition of Loni Fiscus to its team. Fiscus will start as a trainer for the U.S.-based PlayBox Neo team, providing training and demonstrations of the newest versions of PlayBox Neo-20 suite of products, primarily focused on AirBox Neo-20 for automated content streaming and broadcast playout and Cloud2TV virtual playout solution.
Fiscus comes to PlayBox Neo with deep broadcast roots. Her mom, Andrea Cummis, was recently named President of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE.) Cummis is the CTO of PBS39/WLVT-TV in Bethlehem, PA. Loni grew up learning systems integration and video production through her parents’ company, AC Video Solutions, an A/V consultancy based in Orange, New Jersey
Fiscus has two degrees from NJIT – one in Digital Design and the other in Theater Arts and Technology. While she’s a recent graduate, she’s already got a wealth of experience, including as a freelance teleprompter operator and five years running the backstage and dressing room areas during shows at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC.)
Fiscus finds a similarity in the ease of use in the PlayBox Neo systems and the QLab theatrical software. While in college, she served as the assistant director on many plays, as well as handling projection and design. “I love to work in both [AirBox Neo-20 and QLab.] I’ve always found live streaming and broadcast technology very interesting. With AirBox Neo-20, there are so many ways to automate and layer things. I can’t wait to take a deep dive into the system.”
“Loni is a wonderful addition and is a perfect fit to the PlayBox Neo team,” said Van Duke, Director of U.S. Operations, PlayBox Neo. “She brings this genuine enthusiasm for the technology and an interest in the customer when she conducts demos. She was up and running right off the bat. We’re really looking forward to Loni’s contribution to PlayBox Neo in the U.S.”
PlayBox Neo solutions provide a seamless workflow to keep channels on-air by combining scheduling, ingest, playout, CG and interactive graphics within one box and remote tools to enhance QC checks, preparation and monitoring. The output can be SDI or IP streaming and is suitable for a variety of applications including traditional broadcast TV, pay-tv, playout centers, satellite operators, etc.
AirBox Neo-20 provides automated content streaming and broadcast playout for any kind of TV channel: cloud-based, satellite, cable head-ends, over-the-air broadcasters, corporate TV, or internet-based TV. Via its multi-format parallel output playout/streaming engine, AirBox Neo-20 can mix a variety of media files in one playlist and provides multiple SDI/IP streaming UHD/HD/SD outputs simultaneously. Live productions are streamlined to allow insertion and/or execution of various events or live streams into the playlist.
Cloud2TV simplifies the entire business of putting a new television channel on air. Cloud2TV incorporates a highly intuitive web-based control interface with administrator-adjustable rights assignment, TV channel management, systems and user action logging and notifications.
