License Global Releases the Leading Licensees 2021 Report Uncovering the Top North American Licensees in the Business

SANTA MONICA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–License Global magazine, the licensing industry’s thought leader and news source published by the Global Licensing Group, today released its Leading Licensees report recognizing the licensees in North America who have made an impact in 2020 and continue to make strides in 2021. The annual report celebrates the significant role licensees play in bringing world-class consumer goods to market, spotlighting retailers, manufacturers, and licensees across multiple categories, 26 of which are new to the report. Those returning to the report include Bioworld Merchandising, ColourPop, Fisher-Price, Funko, Mattel, PUMA, Random House Children’s Books, and Threadless, featured alongside notable new licensees including Mystery Escape Room, Sign of the Times, and Sourcebooks Publishing. In response to an impressive number of licensees that performed strongly amid pandemic, the 2021 edition of the Leading Licensees report will be broken down into two parts: the first spotlighting licensees in the North America region and the second illuminating licensees in the European region. Those inducted into this year’s esteemed report are proven leaders in helping brand IP owners navigate significant adversity and turn uncertainty into opportunity.

“We are proud to announce the Leading Licensees 2021 report that highlights the remarkable impact that North American licensees have on the dynamic licensing and consumer product sectors,” says Amanda Cioletti, content director, License Global. “The past 18 months have been trying, but not without triumph, largely due to the returning licensees that continue to inspire positive change and the new nominees that rose to the challenge. It’s our honor to applaud the 117 standout licensees that are shaping the consumer trends of tomorrow.”

Now more than ever, the role of licensees is mission-critical to propelling emergent categories such as athleisure, homewares, apparel, fashion and beauty and consumer electronics that are flourishing as society emerges from lockdown, according to a recent Amazon report—trends reflected in the Leading Licensees report with Crayola, Hallmark, Fanatics, MAC Cosmetics, Otterbox, SportLife Brands, among others paving the way.
