A ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the official opening of the Sajak Visual Media Center
HILLSDALE, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Hillsdale College hosted a ribbon cutting at the Sajak Visual Media Center on May 10. The center was designed to facilitate filming and media production for the students and staff of Hillsdale College.
The Sajak Visual Media Center was made possible by Pat and Lesly Sajak and the Deany’s Days Foundation and Griswold-Bacigalupi Family. Pat Sajak has served on Hillsdale College’s Board of Trustees since 2002, he was the vice chairman from 2003 to 2019, when he was named chairman. “Pat works just like Hillsdale College does,” said College President Larry Arnn. “He does something lovely and he shows it to a lot of people, and they enjoy it and watch it. It is a perfect pairing, this building, Hillsdale College, and the chairman of our board. We are deeply grateful to him.”
The new visual media center, located at the intersection of Fayette and Union streets, boasts 10,500 square-feet and houses up to five filming sets for online courses, commercials, and K-12 digital materials. The facility will provide the online learning and K-12 teams with a professional studio, state-of-the art equipment, soundproofing, and a green room. Additionally, Hillsdale College students will have the opportunity to gain behind-the-camera filmmaking experience.
“The Sajak Center will be an excellent resource for the college,” said Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary to the Board of Trustees Rich Péwé. “Whether it be documentaries, online courses, or podcasts, we now have the room and technology to create state of the art content.”
