DeVry University Offers Business Essentials Certificate
Helps Students Explore Business Disciplines and Build Interdisciplinary Skills Critical to Workplace Success
NAPERVILLE, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, by the year 2029 more than 476,000 new jobs are predicted to be available in business1. Working towards preparing students for an ever-changing workforce, DeVry University today announced a new Business Essentials certificate to equip students with interdisciplinary business skills working professionals need today and in the future.
With the Business Essentials certificate, interested students will explore four areas that are fundamental to business success in today’s economy: data analytics, marketing, accounting and management. The series of essential business core courses helps students gain a foundation in business principles so they can build interdisciplinary skills critical to workplace success.
The certificate, which is earned online in as few as eight months*, is a pathway to build to those future business careers, either as a standalone academic credential or for credits towards an associate degree in business or other bachelor’s degree programs at DeVry.

It also gives them the option to continue their education when the time is right for them, knowing that the credits earned can be stacked into qualifying degree programs at DeVry.”
The certificate includes eight courses, which explore such topics as financial accounting, marketing, data analysis, technology, etc., and teaches students how to apply business principles to solve problems applicable to a variety of industries. Students can also explore an area of interest with electives, including human resources, healthcare, supply chain operations, project management and more. Simulations and guided assignments are used to encourage active learning and application of course material, in addition to students also having access to resources such as on-demand real tutors and personalized career services.**
