Cassin & Cassin LLP Welcomes New Attorneys, Strengthening Bench Across Practices

New Attorneys Join Firm’s Affordable Housing, Agency Lending and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities Practices

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cassin & Cassin LLP, a law firm specializing in real estate, real estate finance and trusts and estates, today announced the hiring of seven attorneys. Tara Darling, Roberto Machado, Ryan Vines and Kaitlyn M. West have joined Cassin’s New York City office, while Trevor Cardo, Paul Dibbini and Patrick Jennings will be based in the firm’s Purchase, New York office.

About the New Hires

Trevor Cardo joins Cassin’s Purchase office as an associate working within the firm’s Affordable Housing and Agency Lending practices. He most recently served as Counsel with Thoroughbred Title Services, primarily focusing on title insurance and title closing issues. Mr. Cardo received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and his undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Tara Darling joins Cassin’s Affordable Housing and Agency Lending practices as an associate in New York City. Her responsibilities include representing lenders in the financing of multifamily properties through the Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting & Servicing product line and the Freddie Mac Seller-Servicer program. Prior to Cassin, Ms. Darling held an associate role at Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles LLP, where she focused on commercial litigation. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College.

Paul Dibbini will join Cassin’s Purchase, New York office, as a law clerk working within the firm’s CMBS and balance sheet lending practices. Mr. Dibbini, who received his Juris Doctor from Pace University’s Elizabeth Haub School of Law in May 2019, previously held internships at the Eastchester Justice Courthouse and the New Haven County Courthouse. His admission to practice law in the State of New York is pending.

Patrick B. Jennings joins the firm in Purchase, New York, as an Associate within Cassin’s Agency Lending and Affordable Housing practices. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Jennings worked as a prosecutor in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for eight years. As a prosecutor, Mr. Jennings successfully tried some of the offices highest profile cases before serving as Chief of the Felony Narcotics Unit, where he led one of the highest volume felony trial units in the entire country. Mr. Jennings earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Boston College and his Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Roberto Machado joins Cassin in New York City as a law clerk, working primarily within its Affordable Housing and Agency Lending practices. Most recently, Mr. Machado served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Andrea Masley within the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court. Prior to that, he was a Legal Intern on Mount Sinai Innovation Partners’ Contracts and Licensing team. Mr. Machado earned his Juris Doctor, with a concentration in business and financial law, from Fordham University’s School of Law. His admission to practice law in the State of New York is pending.

Ryan Vines joins Cassin’s New York City office as an associate, working within the firm’s CMBS and general commercial real estate groups. He focuses his practice on representing institutional lenders in closing commercial real estate loans intended for securitization or other sale on the secondary market. Mr. Vines was previously a Summer Law Clerk at Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP. He received his Juris Doctor with a concentration in taxation from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Cardozo Journal for Conflict Resolution. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Kaitlyn M. West joins Cassin’s Agency Lending practice as an associate in New York City. She most recently served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Mary B. Malveaux in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to that, she was a Student Associate at Richmond’s Intellectual Property and Transactional Law Clinic, as well as a Legal Justice Institute Coordinator at Legal Outreach, Inc. in New York City. Ms. West earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she served as an editor for the University of Richmond Law Review. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Virginia, and her admission to practice in the State of New York is pending.
