Kids’ Book Hangout Returns to Stores Nationwide May 18 for Young
Readers to Learn About New Books and Play Games & Activities
All Young Reader Books Will Be 20% Off From 2 PM to 5 PM on May 18
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest
retail bookseller, today announced the return of its seasonal Kids’ Book
Hangout in stores nationwide on Saturday, May 18 at 2 PM. The
customer-favorite event is a nationwide program for young readers to
celebrate reading with exciting new books and fun games and activities
designed toward readers in grades two through six. This spring Kids’
Book Hangout features an introduction to four recommended books, and
free giveaways, while supplies last. Customers can sign up at BN.com/BNHangout.

For this spring’s selection, Barnes & Noble partnered with HarperCollins
to highlight four unique books for young readers across genres and
reading stages. Kids do not need to have read the featured books, but
should come ready to discover new characters, stories and genres. The

host activities related to the books, as well as give participants
book-related giveaways to take home, while supplies last. Barnes & Noble
will also offer all Young Reader books for 20% off from 2 PM to 5 PM on
the day of the event, including chapter books, graphic novels, fiction
and nonfiction. In addition, Barnes & Noble Cafés will offer Kids’ Book
Hangout participants a coupon to purchase a Blondie Bar with M&M’s®
for just $1.
The Kids’ Book Hangout is held seasonally and adds to Barnes & Noble’s
other kids’ offerings, including additional Young Reader events, Kids’
Club membership, and weekly, nationwide Storytimes.
