Skill Integrity Council Appoints Honourable William P. Coley II as Executive Director

Las Vegas, Nevada–(Newsfile Corp. – February 18, 2022) – The Skill Integrity Council (the “Council”), a membership-based not-for-profit organization working to establish a self-regulatory framework for the competitive Peer-to-Peer (“P2P”) skill-based gameplay sector, is pleased to announce that Honourable William (Bill) P. Coley II has been appointed to the Executive Director position effective January 3rd, 2022.

Former Senator Coley fulfilled his term limits after 16 consecutive years in the Ohio General Assembly, including 10 years as a Committee Chairman. Senator Coley was a founding member of the Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee, the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee and served on the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission as well as serving as one of Ohio’s delegates to the Assembly of State Legislatures. Senator Coley’s experience in handling gaming issues led to his election as president of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS). Senator Coley’s experience, coupled with his innovative legislative efforts, has resulted in the senator speaking throughout the nation, and internationally, on legislative issues including elections operations, payment systems, pharmacy benefit management, and educational distance learning. Senator Coley has made presentations and been invited to speak on sports betting and gaming policy to legislators throughout the United States, Europe, Brazil, South Africa and Japan. Currently, Senator Coley is consulting with Miami University’s Institute for Responsible Gaming Lotteries and Sport. He also works as a commercial litigation attorney, is AV Preeminent rated, and is licensed to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

The Skill Integrity Council was established in 2020 as a membership-based self-regulatory-organization specifically focused on the oversight and governance of the monetized competitive Peer-to-Peer (P2P) skill-based gameplay.

The Council’s multi-tier membership is designed to attract and include stakeholders from each segment of the P2P ecosystem. The Council aims to influence the esports and gaming industry by applying the in-house expertise, skills, and partnerships to build a self-regulatory industry framework that will enable fair and transparent match-making, skill-based game certifications, player authentication standards, necessary consumer protections and more.
