Nevada City, California, June 8, 2021 — Telestream, a leading provider of workflow automation, media processing, quality monitoring and test and measurement solutions for the production and distribution of video, has announced a major new upgrade to its Inspect 2110 monitoring platform.

New to the platform is monitoring of ST 2022-6 data streams (transport of high bit rate media over IP networks) which, when added to the existing capability of monitoring ST 2110 video, audio & data essences within facilities and across networks, provides a unique and seamless means of assuring reliability within hybrid SDI-over-IP and ST 2110 deployments. This new capability greatly simplifies operations and operational costs.  Also added in this release is enhanced monitoring of primary and secondary streams in applications which employ 2022-7 for stream redundancy.

Hand in hand with ST 2110 monitoring, and new in this upgrade, is the support for NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 APIs, which provide a means to discover and register devices and to handle connection management easily. Also, this capability enhances Inspect 2110’s ability to integrate within Software Defined Networks (SDNs). Interoperability and discoverability means additional products and software offerings can be quickly added to the monitored network, saving deployment and development resources.

Telestream has increased the Inspect 2110 platform’s scalability to handle the rapidly growing numbers of essence flows and program streams in hybrid ST 2022-6 and ST 2110 deployments. In this upgrade, added to the dual 100 Gbps interfaces on the Inspect 2110 platform, are 40 Gbps options to assure easy interfacing among varied network topologies.

“As live decentralized production of content becomes more and more prevalent, and ST 2110 essences create hundreds or thousands of additional elements to monitor and diagnose, the Inspect 2110 solution, coupled with Telestream’s PRISM probes, enables a broader and deep analysis of IP content, PTP synchronization, and hybrid networks,” states Agostino Canepa, Director of Product Management at Telestream.
