PicsArt Hires Two New Executives as it Reaches ‘Top 20 Most Downloaded App in the World’ Status Three Quarters in a Row

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PicsArt, the world’s #1 creative platform and social editing app, today announced the appointment of Avnish Patel as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Operations and Jane Hu as Vice President of Content and Community. The former Eventbrite and YouTube executives, respectively, join the company as it reaches #15 most downloaded app worldwide status with more than 50 million downloads in Q3 alone. PicsArt is also one of the top grossing apps in the photo and video category, behind brands like YouTube and TikTok and ahead of Instagram, Snapchat and Adobe.

Patel and Hu will work closely with PicsArt CEO Hovhannes Avoyan, COO Tammy Nam and other executives to identify strategic opportunities, areas of focus, and scale content and community development.

Patel, previously VP of Strategy and Operations for Eventbrite, will lead corporate and business development for PicsArt. Hu will oversee PicsArt’s US and international content and community teams to drive further strategic growth around the nearly one billion pieces of content uploaded to the platform every month. Prior to PicsArt, Hu led teams at Smule and YouTube around creative operations, original programming, content creation and monetization.

PicsArt is going through a time of tremendous growth – more than 700 million app downloads to date. This clearly reflects consumers’ demand for a platform that offers an easy and fun way to tell their visual stories,” said Hovhannes Avoyan, CEO and co-founder of PicsArt. “With this growth, we’re thrilled to have Avnish and Jane, two veteran Silicon Valley executives, join our team as we identify new market opportunities and continue to build products that users love.”

Headquartered in San Francisco, PicsArt has 450 employees in five offices worldwide, including large R&D and AI centers in Yerevan, Armenia, and Moscow, as well as regional offices in Beijing, Tokyo and Los Angeles.
