Panasas Hires Industry Veteran Fred Vasofsky as It Steps Up Push Into Federal and Other Verticals

SUNNYVALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#AIPanasas® has appointed industry executive Fred Vasofsky to spearhead the company’s rapidly expanding presence in key vertical markets.

Vasofsky, who takes on the role of Managing Director, Vertical Solutions, brings 25 years of experience working with federal government and commercial customers to Panasas. During his career, Vasofsky has held senior executive roles in federal sales and channel management. This includes Fusion-io, where he helped deploy some of the earliest SSDs for performance storage into federal customer environments, prior to its acquisition by SanDisk.

While at SanDisk, he was charged with driving all U.S. federal government sales, then promoted to run enterprise commercial sales for North America. Fred was most recently General Manager of Weka.io.

“Fred brings an established track record building long-term relationships with customers in various segments,” said Brian Peterson, Chief Operating Officer, Panasas. “These verticals are increasingly showing commitment to the high-end performance and reliability Panasas solutions deliver. Fred is uniquely qualified to help Panasas build on our existing momentum as we step up our presence in these business segments.”

“Panasas has focused on helping customers worldwide leverage HPC technology, and I’m excited to be part of taking that offering into existing and new customer environments,” said Vasofsky. “With the new portable Ultra platform and the ongoing commitment to system reliability, automation of system tuning and enhanced data security, Panasas is a great fit for customers in federal, life sciences and other vertical markets.”
