Omroep Brabant Adopts QuickLink StudioCall to Elevate the Quality of Guest Interviews

NORTH BRABANT, NETHERLANDS – AUGUST 6, 2024 – Omroep Brabant, the largest regional broadcaster in the Netherlands, has integrated QuickLink StudioCall into its production workflow, enabling ground-breaking remote guest capabilities for high-quality live broadcasts.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Omroep Brabant used multiple video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom and Skype, to connect external guests to broadcasts. However, the station recently sought a more efficient, higher quality alternative for introducing remote guests that was also straight-forward to implement for both operators and external guests.

“With QuickLink, we can create quality video call connections with ease,” said Jasper de Bruijn, Media Technology System Specialist at Omroep Brabant. “The low latency makes it ideal for live broadcasts, and it’s easy-to-use, even for non-technical participants, which also helps us to utilize our crews’ time and resources more efficiently.”

In addition to low latency, QuickLink offers many configuration options to optimize the connection based on guest conditions. Omroep Brabant easily deploys invitations to remote guests via SMS, WhatsApp, or email. Once connected, operators have full operational control of virtual rooms and device settings from a central web-based portal, accessible from any global location. Using the intuitive remote management controls, Omroep Brabant’s operators can conveniently pre-screen, control, and manage their remote guests, including camera/microphone/speakers selection, resolution, audio mode/gain, and more.

Jasper de Bruijn adds; “StudioCall allows us to fine-tune the remote guest process. External guests who have a somewhat poor internet connection can be identified, taken into account, and adjusted as needed. Thanks to QuickLink, we have achieved enormous time savings in introducing remote connections.”

The QuickLink StudioCall solution enables Omroep Brabant to professionally introduce remote guests into their pre-recorded and live broadcast HD-SDI workflows, while maintaining the high quality expected by viewers. Ease-of-use and efficient workflows enable efficient time savings for Omroep Brabant.

The QuickLink solutions were provided to Omroep Brabant by CUE-Support, a Netherlands-based audiovisual provider to the Broadcast and ProAV industries. CUE-Support is committed to delivering innovative products and techniques to its customers.

QuickLink, a global-leader in remote production solutions, offers cutting-edge remote production solutions and with its 21-year industry-wide knowledge, the company empowers media companies, like Omroep Brabant, to deliver immersive and professional broadcast quality productions.
