Marquis Who’s Who Honors Paula Bland for Excellence in Paralegal Services and Legal Support

TAMPA, FL / ACCESS Newswire / May 8, 2026 / Marquis Who’s Who is proud to honor Paula Bland, Florida Registered Paralegal and owner of Freelance of Tampa LLC, for her distinguished contributions to law and paralegal services. Ms. Bland has built her career on reliability, perseverance and professional versatility, demonstrating a deep commitment to leaving every workplace and working relationship on good terms. Through its recognition of Ms. Bland, Marquis Who’s Who celebrates a professional whose dedication continues to strengthen the legal teams and communities she serves.

Ms. Bland has served as owner of Freelance of Tampa LLC, since 2020, providing freelance paralegal services to attorneys and firms in need of experienced, flexible and high-quality legal support. Her work draws on decades of experience in multiple areas of law, including family law, personal injury, federal appellate matters, organized crime and drug enforcement, and general criminal matters.

Through her business, she offers attorneys the benefit of seasoned paralegal support without the need for full-time staffing. Ms. Bland developed this model after observing a growing demand for freelance assistance among small firms and attorneys carrying more work than their teams could reasonably manage.

In an interview with Marquis Who’s Who, Ms. Bland described her career as one she “kind of fell into,” beginning with a search for better opportunity after working at a TV and appliance rental company in Kentucky. A job announcement with the Internal Revenue Service in Cincinnati caught her attention, and despite concerns about her age during the interview process, she earned the position in the IRS Criminal Investigation Division. That first opportunity opened the door to a long legal career, eventually bringing her to Tampa, where colleagues encouraged her to apply to the United States Attorney’s Office.

At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Bland built a strong foundation in federal legal work. She started in general crimes before moving into organized crime and drug enforcement, an area she found especially engaging. She later helped support the creation of an appellate division and became its lead secretary, supervising staff across Tampa, Fort Myers, Orlando and Jacksonville. “I was also the first-line reviewer of every appellate brief written in the Middle District of Florida,” she noted proudly. This was a responsibility that demanded precision, sound judgment and a clear understanding of legal writing standards.

Following her federal service, Ms. Bland transitioned into private practice, working in areas that included life insurance churning cases, family law and personal injury. Her career includes service with Medina Law Firm LLC, Givens Givens Sparks PLLC, Alvarez Gower Injury Law and other legal offices, along with earlier service in the IRS Criminal Investigation Division and the U.S. Department of Justice. Across these roles, she developed the ability to move confidently between legal disciplines, a skill she considers essential for long-term success in the paralegal profession.

Ms. Bland attributes her achievements to consistently delivering high-quality work, even when that requires additional time and effort. She believes attorneys and colleagues ultimately appreciate work that is thorough, accurate and dependable. “Learn as much as you can about everything … because when they start looking for people to let go, the ones they won’t dismiss are those who can do the most things,” she advised.

Speaking with Marquis Who’s Who, Ms. Bland said that one of the accomplishments she values most is having left every position on good terms. Throughout her career, she has worked with many attorneys more than once and believes that most would gladly hire her again. For Ms. Bland, maintaining good relationships is not merely professional etiquette; it is a reflection of character and practical wisdom. She believes people should leave every situation better than they found it, knowing that paths often cross again in the legal community.

Looking ahead, Ms. Bland aims to grow Freelance of Tampa LLC, hire a small team and continue providing excellent service to the attorneys she supports. Her vision is to build a business that allows talented legal professionals to work effectively and sustainably while giving attorneys reliable access to experienced support.

“Paula Bland exemplifies the caliber of legal professional Marquis Who’s Who is proud to chronicle,” the editorial team stated. “Her work in paralegal services reflects a career defined by quality, resilience, adaptability and an unwavering commitment to helping attorneys and clients succeed.”
