Kryton International’s Hard-Cem(R) Admixture Manufacturing Facility in Calgary Earns Prestigious KAIZEN(TM) Certification

CALGARY, AB / ACCESS Newswire / July 29, 2026 / Kryton International, a global leader in crystalline concrete waterproofing and durability solutions, proudly announces that its admixture manufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta, has officially earned the KAIZEN Certification for operational excellence and continuous improvement.

KAIZEN, a Japanese term meaning ‘continuous improvement,’ is the practice of making small, daily improvements to the way work is done and production is optimized. The 5S certification, awarded by Kaizen Institute following an on-site audit, recognizes how consistently the Calgary plant applies that practice: how the workplace is organized, how standards are held, and how the people doing the work identify and remove waste themselves.

“Kryton’s Calgary plant did not simply meet the 5S standard. The team passed our audit with distinction. What makes this certification meaningful is its scope: the entire facility and every person working in it,” said Carlos Bartilotti, Senior Principal at Kaizen Institute. “Many organizations train their people; far fewer put the plant itself in front of an independent audit and let the result stand on its own. That is the difference between an initiative and an operating standard, and it gives Kryton’s customers third-party assurance behind the quality they expect.”

Following a rigorous, multi-month evaluation of the facility’s workflows, the certification highlights Kryton’s commitment to delivering top-tier smart concrete solutions while maintaining an agile, sustainable, and highly efficient manufacturing ecosystem.

“Earning the KAIZEN Certification is a monumental milestone for our Calgary team and a testament to our relentless pursuit of operational excellence,” said Kari Yuers, CEO of Kryton International. “The KAIZEN culture empowers our frontline operators to actively drive innovation. By optimizing our manufacturing footprint, we are not only increasing our production capacity but also ensuring that our global customers receive the highest level of product consistency and reliability.”

The Calgary manufacturing plant produces Kryton’s Hard-Cem abrasion-resisting admixture, which is distributed to customers throughout the world for critical infrastructure projects, such as logistics centers, mines, data centers and transportation hubs.

Key operational transformations achieved at the Calgary facility during the certification process include:

  • Optimized Material Workflows: Redesigning raw material staging and point-of-use storage to significantly reduce cycle times for Kryton’s Hard-Cem.

  • Enhanced Visual Management: Implementing comprehensive 5S workplace organization standards across the production floor to maximize operator safety and equipment uptime.

  • Frontline-Led Innovation: Establishing structured Kaizen Teian (employee suggestion) protocols, resulting in dozens of micro-improvements to daily mixing and packaging safety standards.

As the construction industry increasingly demands smarter, more resilient building materials, the KAIZEN-certified Calgary facility positions Kryton to rapidly scale its output to meet growing global infrastructure needs while minimizing its manufacturing carbon footprint.
