BROOKLYN, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#children–HITN, the leading Spanish language network that provides educational and entertainment content to more than 44 million households in the United States, will broadcast Vacúnalos on December 9 at 7 p.m. (Eastern and Pacific Times), a special program that will provide comprehensive information on the recently approved (and recommended by the CDC) BioNTech/Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11.

In this important conversation, the moderator Gaby Quiroga will connect experts located in Los Angeles, Miami and Atlanta, who will offer updated information and will chat live with a group of parents and children to address their concerns, doubts and disperse myths about vaccination in children. Some of the questions that will be addressed include: how is the dose for infants from 5 to 11 years old different than for those who are over 12 years of age? How are doses determined when vaccinating children? Can the COVID-19 vaccine affect the growth or development of children?

The group of specialists who will be part of the program is composed of Dr. Aliza Lifshitz, editorial director of Vida y Salud, recognized by Hispanic Business magazine as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics; Dr. Marcos Mestre, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami; and Dr. Carlos del Rio, professor at Emory University in Atlanta in the division of infectious diseases, who during the COVID-19 pandemic has been a leader locally and nationally, doing research, developing policies, writing scientific publications and making media appearances.

HITN will broadcast the one-hour special on Thursday, December 9 at 7 p.m. (Eastern and Pacific Times), featuring a rerun on Sunday December 12 at 11 a.m. (Eastern and Pacific Times). During the program’s broadcasts, Vida y Salud‘s team of medical advisors will be online to answer questions from the public via text chat.
