Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine Ranks DeVry University Top 10 in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services

DeVry is helping Latino students to thrive in today’s tech-driven workforce

NAPERVILLE, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#DeVryProudDeVry University has been ranked by the Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine among the top 10 colleges and universities for Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services. The annual recognition highlights advancements of Hispanics in higher education and spotlights institutions dedicated to meeting the educational needs of the Latino community.

“This recognition reaffirms our longstanding commitment to educating Hispanic students,” said Veronica Calderón, DeVry University’s chief inclusion, belonging, and equity officer. “At DeVry, we recognize the responsibility we have of serving Latinos. Our goal is to reduce educational disparities, close the opportunity gap and build a more diverse workforce.”

Each year, the magazine releases the Top 100 Colleges and Universities Hispanics issue using data from the National Center for Education Statistics and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) to compile the lists to chart the national progress of Hispanics in higher education and recognize the institutions serving Latinos’ educational needs.

With Hispanics accounting for nearly 17% of its total student population, DeVry University established the NextGen Hispanic Scholars Program, which provides access to educational, community, and mentorship resources to help Hispanic, Latino, Latina, and Latinx students pursue a college education and advance in today’s workforce. To date, the program has enrolled over 1,000 scholars since 2022.
