HARRISON CONSOLES IS KEY AUDIO PARTNER FOR ASG VIRTUAL PRODUCTION CONTROL ROOM
Advanced Systems Group (ASG), a solutions provider for media creatives and content owners, today announced it has partnered with Harrison Consoles, a leading audio mixing solutions company, to provide cloud-based audio mixing capabilities for ASG’s new Virtual Production Control Room. Harrison has developed Mixbus VBM, an audio mixing platform that provides a seamless audio interface within the VPCR.
Tailored for broadcast mixing applications, Mixbus VBM includes a scalable architecture with numerous mix minus feeds, multiple program output feeds, sophisticated communications features, and specialized audio processing tools. Controlled via a single or dual-screen GUI, Mixbus VBM can also be configured with a scalable hardware controller solution.
Powered by Google Cloud, the VPCR remote production service allows real-time, broadcast-quality coverage of live events and other programming. It requires no on-prem services to deliver secure, cost-effective content complete with video switching effects, multi-channel audio, graphics, captions, and more. The system also supports major videoconferencing applications with multiple live participants.
“We have been very excited to be a key partner with ASG on the VPCR project over the last year,” said Gary Thielman, president of Harrison Consoles. “The need for remote production solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic has drastically accelerated our development schedule into this rapidly changing market segment, and ASG’s guidance has been invaluable.”
“With Mixbus VBM, Harrison has delivered a familiar and powerful audio mixer that is ideal for almost any live production,” added Dave Van Hoy, president of ASG. “Good audio is a critical component of any cloud-based workflow, and we know our customers appreciate the option of using a Harrison console. We appreciate Harrison’s support and their important contribution to our remote production solution.”
In contrast to all-in-one solutions, the VPCR was developed around a best-in-breed, multi-vendor solution to deliver a powerful and versatile virtual control room. The VPCR ecosystem includes more than two dozen companies, with multiple vendor options in virtually every signal position in the control room.
VPCR is available in three different subscription models, with optional engineering services or fully managed production services.
