GigSmart Aids Midwest Disaster Relief Efforts by Sourcing Volunteer and Paid Short-Term Labor
Mobile Work App Waiving Service Fee to Organizations within Tornado
and Flood Zones
CINCINNATI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/GigSmart?src=hash” target=”_blank”gt;#GigSmartlt;/agt;–May has proven a difficult month for many families and businesses across
the Midwest as a result of severe and catastrophic weather that has
destroyed homes, disrupted business and even taken lives. Seemingly each
day brings a new announcement of devastation from flooding, wind and
tornados.
In an effort to aid in the expansive need for reconstruction and
humanitarian aid, mobile work app, GigSmart, has announced it will waive
its normal 10% fee and offer its platform free to all organizations
working to rebuild areas deemed disasters as a result of tornados and
flooding.
This is particularly close to the heart of GigSmart president Rich
Oakes, who raised his family in Southwest Ohio, not far from the recent
tornado outbreak in Dayton.
“I have witnessed this destruction firsthand as I visited my home
and family in Southwest Ohio. It is time for everyone to do their part
to support all those affected by the devastation. I encourage everyone
to participate and do what they can, for the need is great.”
Oakes adds, “Together we can overcome these challenges. Together we can
rebuild and, in the process, build better cities, become better people
and lift the spirit of our country.”
Workers and volunteers are encouraged to sign-up and let these
organizations know they are available for paid or volunteer work. Any
business, individual or charitable organization may download the app and
sign up to find much needed help for free during this challenging time.
Organizations in need of assistance may call the GigSmart Client Support
Specialists at 720-828-7720 and let them help create a free job posting
and begin getting the workers they need to accelerate the clean-up and
rebuilding of their communities.
