Cincinnati Bell to Open Dayton Market Headquarters as It Continues to Expand in the Miami Valley
DAYTON, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cincinnati Bell announced today that it will open a retail store and business office at 230 Webster Street as the technology company continues to expand its presence in Dayton. The location will open in the Spring of 2022.
Cincinnati Bell’s 1,500-square-foot retail store will feature a suite of smart devices from brands including Amazon, Google, Ring, Apple and eero. Cincinnati Bell’s team of retail consultants will be available to help consumers leverage this technology to create a more connected life.
The space will also serve as a business office for Cincinnati Bell’s growing team of account executives who support business customers across Dayton that increasingly depend on technology solutions such as Wi-Fi, analytics, and engagement software to drive business outcomes.
Woodard Development acquired the building from BarryStaff in November. Woodard has been working with Cincinnati Bell to explore locations in Dayton, and the Barry property was a natural fit for the needs of the combined retail and business office use.
Cincinnati Bell and its Smart City organization, branded as UniCity, already support multiple Dayton-based organizations including the Oregon District Business Association, Levitt Pavilion Dayton, and the University of Dayton. Cincinnati Bell and UniCity are also part of the Dayton-Montgomery County Digital Equity Initiative, which is providing high-speed Wi-Fi to more than 1,000 residents living in five housing communities.
“Cincinnati Bell’s new office and retail store in Dayton reflects our commitment to serving this amazing community,” said Jason Praeter, President and General Manager of Cincinnati Bell’s Entertainment and Communications business. “We are thrilled to be part of the excitement of Downtown Dayton. Cincinnati Bell has been connecting what matters for nearly 150 years in Greater Cincinnati, and we are excited to be growing in Dayton.”
“We have partnered with Cincinnati Bell on multiple projects and embraced the opportunity to work with them to create a Dayton headquarters,” said Jason Woodard, Principal of Woodard Development. “Their aggressive investment in the market and support of the area technology businesses will be a major benefit to the continued growth of high-wage jobs in the market.”
Cincinnati Bell has invested more than $1 billion into building a fiber network across Greater Cincinnati that supports gigabit Internet speeds. The company is building fiber in parts of Dayton as well to support the need for bandwidth among businesses and consumers.
“High-speed Internet is essential for individuals and families to access educational, healthcare, and employment opportunities. It is also a key part of economic development efforts to retain and attract growing companies,” said Praeter. “Cincinnati Bell is committed to creating digital equity, and we are excited to bring our fiber network to more parts of Dayton.”
