Black Girls Code Announces 2026 Summer Camps in 10 Cities and Two Virtual Camps
This Year’s Camp Series, “Game Design: She Won’t Just Play the Game. She’ll Build It,” Aims to Reach Over 600 Campers Ages 10-17 Across the U.S.
The 14 Camps Will Be Held from June to August
OAKLAND, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Black Girls Code (BGC), the trailblazing nonprofit dedicated to preparing young girls and women for careers in technology, today announced the launch of its 2026 Summer Camp program in 10 cities nationwide and two virtual sessions. Black Girls Code is partnering with Endless Access, a youth-focused game making studio and learning hub, to equip students with foundational skills in game development and artificial intelligence (AI) while fostering ethical decision-making and creativity in technological innovation.
Through this collaboration, campers will step inside the world of professional game development, and explore firsthand how art, sound, storytelling, and mechanics come together to create engaging player experiences. Using real tools from the industry, students will design their own game assets – from sound effects and narrative elements to skill trees and gameplay loops – while learning how creative teams take a game from idea to execution.
BGC’s exclusive partnership with Endless Access expands access to its Summer Camps and high-quality STEAM education. Locations include Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Raleigh-Durham, and Puerto Rico.
“At Black Girls Code, we believe everyone has a role in shaping the future of technology,” said Cristina Mancini, CEO of Black Girls Code. “Our camps go beyond coding – they spark creativity and joy, build confidence, and connect girls with a powerful community. Thanks to partners like Endless Access, we’re able to reach more girls with enhanced programs that allow learners not just to interact with real-world technology tools and products, but to build them themselves.”
This year’s theme, “She Won’t Just Play the Game. She’ll Build It,” includes:
- Daily hands-on coding instruction led by Black Girls Code-trained instructors, culminating in campers showcasing their learning in a capstone project
- Tailored industry speaker sessions highlighting careers in AI, coding, gaming, and broader STEAM fields
- Wellness and movement activities designed to support campers’ mental and physical well-being
- Leadership development curriculum in partnership with Lean In Girls
- Celebratory closing event where participants present their capstone projects to peers and ecosystem partners
