Demand from Post-it App Users Spurs Development of Mac Desktop Version
ST. PAUL, Minn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Post-it Brand from 3M announces its highly-rated Post-it App is now available on the Mac App Store with macOS Catalina, the latest version of the world’s most advanced desktop operating system from Apple. Post-it App for Mac seamlessly extends what was already a great user experience for mobile to the desktop.
Post-it Notes continue to be an essential tool used to capture ideas and notes during meetings and brainstorms in the workplace. It used to be a time-consuming task to transcribe notes after a lengthy brainstorming session; however, the Post-it App solved that problem by seamlessly digitizing handwritten Post-it Notes. Users can capture up to 200 notes with their camera and create new digital notes within the app right on their devices. The digital Post-it Notes can be arranged, refined, organized and shared with teams, or exported to applications and cloud services.
The leading Post-it App user request has been to create a desktop version of the app. Using Mac Catalyst with macOS Catalina, 3M is fulfilling that request, allowing users to edit and organize Post-it Notes captured with iPhone and iPad on their Mac displays. Users see a boost in productivity when grouping, sorting and synthesizing ideas with keyboard and mouse on a big screen, providing another opportunity to continue the momentum after the meeting has ended.
“Millions of people use Post-it App on iPhone and iPad to quickly capture and share their Post-it Notes. Our users have been asking for a Mac app to edit and organize notes on their desktop and Mac Catalyst allowed us to make that happen in the best way possible,” said Remi Kent, Global Business Director, Post-it Brand. “At Post-it Brand, we are committed to helping users bring their handwritten notes to the digital world and with our new Mac app, we seamlessly extend the experience from mobile to desktop.”
macOS Catalina and Mac Catalyst make it easy for developers to bring iPad apps over to the Mac, extending their reach to an engaged audience of more than 100,000,000 active Mac users.
“It actually took less than a day to get our iPad app running on Mac. We could then spend as much time as we wanted optimizing it for desktop and adding valuable Mac-specific features,” said Pontus Axelsson, Founder and President of Bontouch, developer of the Post-it App. “Bringing Post-it App to the Mac desktop not only adds significant functionality and a new platform for our users, but also fulfills our top customer request.”
The release of the Mac desktop app is another innovation from Post-it Brand, exemplifying its continued commitment to bridge the analog and digital worlds.
The Post-it App recognizes all square Post-it Notes, from 3” x 3” to Post-it Big Notes. The Post-it App for macOS is available as a free download in the Mac App Store. For more information, visit Post-it.com/app.
